Stationary Engine Display Rules |
Required
- Double rope stanchions must separate the displayed items from the public by a minimum of three feet.
- Occupancy of the display area shall be at the discretion of the exhibitor and the Safety Officer.
- Persons attending engines and equipment shall be in control at all times.
- Running engines and equipment shall not be left unattended.
- The Safety Officer has the authority to shut down any engine that is unattended.
- Exhibits with running engines must have easy access to a fire extinguisher.
- All engines and equipment shall have sufficient spacing to allow the operator easy access to all items, be clutter free, and a safe operating distance shall be maintained.
- No alcohol is to be consumed or served in the exhibit area.
- All compressed gas systems which includes models, engines, hot air, etc. will be inspected by the Safety Officer prior to their operation. All compressed gas systems which include tanks, hoses, fittings, and peripheral equipment, must meet the specifications and standards set by NFPA #58 and Underwriters Laboratory. Non-conforming equipment will require removal from the exhibit area.

Exhaust should be directed away and belts should be parallel to viewers.
